n Monday, June 6th, The Blackhead-Western Bay Pastoral Charge began it's Celebrations of the 80th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada with a special M & S service at Ochre Pit Cove. Guest Speaker was Inez Penney, Past-National President of the UCW. She gave a very passionate presentation about her trip to Zambia and The Beads of Hope Campaign. The congregation was very moved, especially when she spoke of the people of Zambia who were so thankful despite their circumstances.
The Offering for that evening was given to M & S. Following the service there was a time of fellowship downstairs where Inez had her Zambia trip display set up. Everyone enjoyed the lunch and the chance to meet and talk with Inez.
Our week long celebrations were off to a wonderful start.
