Minutes for Mission
(for four voices or as many as suit your group)
One: Without thinking, what comes to mind when I say “church camping”?
Two: Singing “Kumbaya.”
Three: My first trip in a canoe.
Four: Roasting marshmallows over a campfire.
Two: Being away from home for the first time, and a friendly counsellor who cures homesickness.
Three: Leadership opportunities and a chance to grow.
Four: Sports, games, great crafts, and skit nights.
Two, Three, and Four in unison: Making lifelong friends and being in the midst of God’s amazing creation.
One: Cultus Lake United Church Camp is in Lindell Beach, British Columbia, at the foot of the Cascade Mountains near Chilliwack. It is one of 65 United Church camps across ten provinces and the Yukon Territory. These camps run summer programs for all ages, giving children and youth a chance to discover more about themselves and how they are part of God’s world.
The United Church of Canada is committed to making church camping safe through proper duty of care standards. Conference and national camping committees as well as General Council staff support camps with resources and guidelines for directors and boards. Your gifts to the M&S Fund ensure that United Church camps can provide our youth with a life-changing experience.
We are a united church! This week, remember the congregations
