The Trustee Board of Ocean View United Church would like to remind everyone that this service will be their “Tree of Reflection” service. Tuesday, Nov. 24th – 7:30 pm – the Outreach Committee for this Pastoral Charge will meet downstairs at McDowell United Church. Wednesday, Nov.25th – 7:30 pm – Bible Study will be held downstairs at McDowell United Church, Western Bay. Each week we will alternate between McDowell and Ocean View. Thursday, Nov. 26th – 7:30 pm – Music Forum will be held downstairs at McDowell United. Anyone interested are welcome to attend. A box is placed in the vestibule of Ocean View United Church by the Ocean View U.C.W. until Nov. 22nd to collect items for Emmanuel House. Last year this was a great success and the people at Emmanuel House were very thankful for all the items they received. The congregation is asked to please support this worthwhile cause. If you have items for Emmanuel House after Nov. 22nd, please contact Mrs. Rosann Slade. A box is placed in the vestibule of McDowell United Church by the McDowell U.C.W. until Dec. 1st to collect items such as house ware, toiletries, and personal items etc. for Emmanuel House. The McDowell United Church Trustee Board has a Special Fund set up to receive donations to replace the Church windows. Donations may also be made to this fund in honour of or in memory of. Please forward your donation to Mr. Berkley Sellars, Treasurer of the McDowell United Church Trustee Board. Please indicate on the envelope “Window Fund Project” and if your donation is in honour of or in memory of. The windows in the Church will cost approximately $1,000.00 each to purchase and install. Again this year the McDowell United Church Trustee Board and U.C.W. will be having a Tree of Reflections. Donations may be made “in honor of or in memory of” for a minimum of $5.00. Your donation will change a white light to a red light and during the service on Sunday, Nov. 22nd at 7:00 pm. all those who donated “in memory of or in honor of” will be recognized by having their name read and who they are remembering at that time. Donations will be received until Dec. 24th. A lunch and time of fellowship will follow downstairs after the service. To be considered a paid contributor for 2009 on the Blackhead – Western Bay Pastoral Charge, each contributor must pay a minimum of $205.00 to the Pastoral Charge budget and a minimum of $40.00 to the local Church and Cemetery Fund. Saturday, Dec. 5th – 9:00 am – 11:00 am – the McDowell United Church Trustee Board and U.C.W. will be having a “Breakfast with Santa”. Tickets are available from any Trustee Board or U.C.W. member at a cost of $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 12 years and under. Pictures with Santa will be available for a cost of $2.00 per picture. A Sale Table will be available during this time. Also, food items will be accepted for the Food Bank. Monday, Dec.7th – 6:00 pm - the Ocean View United Church will be holding their annual congregational Christmas potluck supper. All those who are attending are reminded to please bring along a potluck dish and a gift valued at $5.00 marked man or woman.
