The McDowell United Church Trustee Board has set up a Special Fund to receive donations to replace the Church windows. Donations may also be made to this fund in honour of or in memory of. Please forward your donation to Mr. Berkley Sellars, Treasurer of McDowell United Church Trustee Board. Please indicate on the envelope “Window Fund Project” and if your donation is in honour of or in memory of.
The McDowell United Church Trustee Board is in the process of replacing the windows in the Church. A Window Fund has been set up and as a result the two windows for the front of the Church should be installed by early spring. The other windows in the Church will cost approximately $1000.00 each to purchase and install. We are continuing to raise money and look for support to get these in place. If anyone is interested in donating a window in Memorial or in Honour please contact any member of the Trustee Board.
Any person wishing to attend Confirmation Classes this year please contact Rev. Cole.

M&S Gives a Hand Up
If you look around, you are sure to see someone with a bad back. Maybe you have back pain yourself. You know that back injuries can mean constant pain and long recovery. Imagine how difficult life can become with just one slip!
Laura had fallen in her apartment building, and it resulted in debilitating injuries to her back. To her dismay, she realized that her injuries made her current work no longer possible, because her work required standing for long periods of time and some heavy lifting. What was she to do?
Laura and her school-age son were referred to North House in Uxbridge, Ontario, which receives a grant from the Mission and Service Fund. North House assists individuals and families who are in need of housing solutions and support services. Staff at North House began by meeting with Laura to discover her needs and then developed a personal support group for her. North House helped to stabilize Laura’s financial situation through the assistance of Ontario Works and a rental subsidy. With this help, Laura set goals for health and personal development, employment, and housing. She is now making strong connections in the community that will help her once her time with North House has come to an end.
Most importantly, Laura knows she will not be alone facing the challenges that lie ahead.
Laura thanks you for your gifts to the Mission and Service Fund, which made the grant to North House possible. North House is also grateful for your gift, which assisted a mother and her son in the community who needed only a hand up to get back on track.
