M&S and the Vision Fund
Engaging youth in the church is one of the challenges of many congregations. The Mission and Service Fund provides money to a program called Vision Fund that helps congregations promote exciting programs for young people.
Here’s how Vision Fund works:
Congregations work with their youth groups to develop an innovative youth ministry program.
They can apply for $2,500 annually. If the young people fund-raise, the Vision Fund will match the amount up to an additional $2,500.
Here are examples of the youth ministry your M&S dollars have funded in the church:
Youth in the Maritimes purchased technology that allowed them to participate in worship leadership by using image projection.
A youth group in Toronto learned about wilderness camping and about the beauty of God’s creation in a canoe trip to Northern Ontario.
In Ottawa, young people created a fair trade coffee shop at church.
Youth from several Conferences took exposure trips to learn about poverty, justice, and economics.
In Montreal, young people at risk participated in a job training program.
Your gifts to the Mission and Service Fund help young people live out their faith by being church leaders for today and for tomorrow.
