-Church News – Sunday, May 3rd – 11:00 am – service will be held at McDowell United Church, Western Bay. This is our annual Camping Sunday which has been a great success over the past few years. Please come dressed as you would if going to camp. Come along to our camp downstairs between 10:00 am – 10:45 am and enjoy a camp lunch / mug of tea with our fellow campers. Sunday, May 3rd – 7:00 pm – service will be held at Ocean View United, Broad Cove. Wednesday, April 29th – 7:30 pm – Bible Study this week will be held at McDowell United. Each week we will alternate between Ocean View and McDowell. Saturday, May 9th – 5:00 pm – the Ocean View United Church Trustee Board will be having their annual Flipper Supper. Limited number of tickets is available for either take-out or eat-in. Please contact any Trustee Board member or Darryl Butt at 598-2532 for your ticket. Cost is $10.00 per supper. Take-outs will be available at 4:30 pm. Saturday, May 16th - The Trustee Board of Ocean View United Church will be having a cold plate take-out. Cost $6.00 each. Suppers will be delivered by 12 noon. A representative will be contacting you for your support. The Ocean View United Church Trustee Board has a Special Fund setup to receive donations to tile the Church basement floor. Donations may also be made to this fund in honour of or in memory of. Please forward your donation to Mr. Eric Slade, Treasurer of the Ocean View United Church Trustee Board. Please indicate on the envelope “Tile the Floor Project” and if your donation is in honour of or in memory of. The McDowell United Church Trustee Board has set up a Special Fund to receive donations to replace the Church windows. Donations may also be made to this fund in honour of or in memory of. Please forward your donation to Mr. Berkley Sellars, Treasurer of McDowell United Church Trustee Board. Please indicate on the envelope “Window Fund Project” and if your donation is in honour of or in memory of. The McDowell United Church Trustee Board is in the process of replacing the windows in the Church. A Window Fund has been set up and as a result the two windows for the front of the Church should be installed by early spring. The other windows in the Church will cost approximately $1000.00 each to purchase and install. We are continuing to raise money and look for support to get these in place. If anyone is interested in donating a window in Memorial or in Honour please contact any member of the Trustee Board. Thursday, April 30th 7:30 pm – The Bible Study group of the Blackhead – Western Bay Pastoral Charge will be hosting a Gospel Song Fest at McDowell United, Western Bay. During this special event a free will offering will be taken and all monies raised will be forwarded to the new Cancer Center (Daffodil Place) St. John’s. Fellowship and lunch will follow downstairs after the service. All members are asked to please bring along sandwiches / cookies for the lunch. Everyone is welcome.
