-Church News –

Sunday, April 26^th – 11:00 am – service will be held at Ocean View United, Broad Cove.

Sunday, April 26^th – 7:00 pm – service will be held at McDowell United Church, Western Bay.

Monday, April 20^th – 7:30 pm – The men’s Fellowship Group will hold their regular monthly meeting downstairs at McDowell United.

Tuesday, April 21^st – 7:30 pm – The Session for this Pastoral Charge will meet downstairs at McDowell United.

Wednesday, April 22^th – 7:30 pm – Bible Study will begin again and will alternate between Ocean View and McDowell beginning at Ocean View United.

Thursday, April 23^rd – The bus for the U.C.W. members going to

Friendship Night at Salmon Cove from McDowell and Ocean View will be leaving McDowell at 6:45 pm.

Saturday, May 16^th - The Trustee Board of Ocean View United Church will be having a cold plate take-out. Cost $6.00 each. Suppers will be delivered by 12 noon.

Advance notice - The Trustee Board of Ocean View United Church will be having a Flipper Supper as soon as flippers are available. More details to follow.

The Ocean View United Church Trustee Board has a Special Fund

setup to receive donations to tile the Church basement floor.

Donations may also be made to this fund in honour of or in memory of.

Please forward your donation to Mr. Eric Slade, Treasurer of the

Ocean View United Church Trustee Board. Please indicate on the

envelope “Tile the Floor Project” and if your donation is in honour of

or in memory of.

The McDowell United Church Trustee Board has set up a Special Fund to receive donations to replace the Church windows. Donations may also be made to this fund in honour of or in memory of. Please forward your donation to Mr. Berkley Sellars, Treasurer of McDowell United Church Trustee Board. Please indicate on the envelope “Window Fund Project” and if your donation is in honour of or in memory of.

The McDowell United Church Trustee Board is in the process of replacing the windows in the Church. A Window Fund has been set up and as a result the two windows for the front of the Church should be installed by early spring. The other windows in the Church will cost approximately $1000.00 each to purchase and install. We are continuing to raise money and look for support to get these in place. If anyone is interested in donating a window in Memorial or in Honour please contact any member of the Trustee Board.

Thursday, April 30^th 7:30 pm – The Bible Study group of the Blackhead – Western Bay Pastoral Charge will be hosting a Gospel Song Fest at McDowell United, Western Bay. During this special event a free will offering will be taken and all monies raised will be forwarded to the new Cancer Center (Daffodil Place) St. John’s. Fellowship and lunch will follow downstairs after the service. All members are asked to please bring along sandwiches / cookies for the lunch. Everyone is welcome. Please pass the word to friends and neighbours.

The McDowell U.C.W. will hold a Food Drive for the Outreach Food Bank on Sunday April 26^th before our 7:00 pm service. U.C.W. members will be at the Church at 6:00 pm to receive food donations. Items especially needed are tea, coffee, sugar, butter, canned milk, cereal etc. Your generous response would be greatly appreciated since the Food Bank is in desperate need at this time. Should you need to have your donation picked up, please call Sophie White at 598-2595 or any member of the U.C.W.
